The Winterfold Closure
Recently we received notification of an agreed closure of Winterfold footpath access over Easter and for a period of nearly 2months without warning. Significant community issues with the approach were highlighted, and as a combination of Parish Council and local resident involvement, the closure was softened but not removed. Access was possible over Easter, and Winterfold is also now open each Sunday of the coming weeks.
However, this does not address local concerns in the long term. The local community and Albury Parish Council are continuing to work with the landowner and Surrey County Council, who approved the closure request, to ensure that there is a better process, communication and understanding of all perspectives for the long-term use of the open-access footpaths across Winterfold. We will keep you abreast of progress as agreements are secured.
A25 Closure
It is expected that the A25 will be closed between the Sand Pit and the A248 Sherbourne Junction for 4 days at some point! We are not sure when!
This is to allow the subsidence on the carriageway to be repaired.

Brook Hill Level Crossing
Due to essential maintenance work Brook Hill and Gomshall Level Crossings will be closed from Saturday, 18 February 2023, from 22:30 to 02:00 Monday, 20 February. This is part of a more comprehensive program of upgrades that will take place until March 2024.
Chilworth Level Crossing will have traffic lights in operation during that time.
